Welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to read a little more about me.  I want you to know that I personally have experienced the pain and confusion of life shifting events.  Events that have the potential to change you to the core.  I know that I can stand with you during your most difficult times.  I truly believe in your value and worth.  Sometimes we need someone to walk with us as we find our path out of what feels like darkness.

I am a cancer slayer with the battle scars to prove it.  I have experienced the split second reality where your life changes from normal to one of the biggest fights of your life.  I personally won a war after watching my own mom valiantly lose hers.

I have also experienced the devastating loneliness of losing my religion and spirituality only later finding a new way on my terms.  Just these life experiences put me in the unique position to connect to the pain & the healing of any client.

This power of connection is why I started A Healing Path Counseling & Consulting, PLLC.  I believe that talk therapy is one of the most powerful and important tools we have to process feelings and issues, especially when you are working with a therapist capable and unafraid to walk with you through your journey to find peace and hope.  You can tell from the mission and values of my company that authenticity and empathy are important to me.  I believe that you must feel seen and heard from a non-judgemental position, even when talking about the things that we have shrouded in shame.  Breaking free from those bonds will enable you to find your passion, purpose, connection and are important to your healing.

Education

I am a graduate of University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work with my Masters in Social Work.  I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  I have received my Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist certification focusing on individuals and sex trafficking. I have worked in the medical field much of my social work career but have spent most of this century working with wounded veterans, newly diagnosed cancer patients, parolees adjusting to release after decades of incarceration, elderly, homeless, and trauma patients and their families.  I have a unique perspective working with some of the most vulnerable populations.

My Approach

I understand the need for you to have a partner through life’s storms.  I use a holistic approach to my sessions, and partner with my clients to ensure the best outcomes.  I believe in the power of meditation and mindfulness while using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and psychoeducation around Polyvegal Theory.  I am trained in EMDR and offer Ketamine Assisted Therapy, but ultimately your path will be a collaborative effort between us based on your goals.

You do not have to carry the pain any further.  I look forward to working with you and will be here when you are ready. Please complete the form for a free 15 minute consultation.
